There are some excellent sources of legal advice around, whether looking for a highly in-depth article on a technical area of law or just relating to basics. Whilst many will be aware of the big bang in Legal Services coming to final implementation in the next few months, perhaps the biggest explosion has already taken place. Before the internet, it was very difficult for non-lawyers to know where and how to access legal information except via lawyers. law was contained in textbooks and volumes which were generally not only highly technical but expensive. Now, everything has changed. the internet has benefited many businesses and individuals, but with law in particular, it is such a huge area, it is perfect for lots of publishing on the net. The law is ever changing so it will never be a case of running out of material.
The above change has also meant that lawyers, who are finally starting to understand the internet as a medium to show who and what they are to a huge new auidience, are having to change the way they deal with clients. Basic legal concepts and advice have to be given away gratis. With the competition out there being so fierce, solicitors are having to think about how they can convey a topic to the audience in a way which is not overly legalistic. If the tone and understandability are not right, the visitor will bounce offg in quick time.
All in all this is good news. Whether you are looking for employment lawyers, need a solicitor for litigation, have a family law issue, need commercial contracts or need a conveyancer or a property lawyer, it has never been easier to make an informed choice about the lawyer for you. We trust the power of the net for choosing far more than price comparison sites (by the way we now have legal comparison sites coming out of everywhere, we don’t set much stall by them ourselves)
